365 Challenge Quilt is Finished!

It has been a long time coming, since January 2022 in fact, but this UFO is done!

I don’t recommend doing ‘fancy’ free motion quilting on such a large quilt made from prints. The quilting doesn’t show up well.

But I can’t help myself sometimes!

And I got a lot of much needed practice!

And with practice, comes confidence!

Some of these photos show in-progress.

But most of these photos show the finished quilt.

Finishing up this baby has removed clutter and stress from my brain!

Feels so good!

365 Challenge

These are the thoughts that I had in December and they are still valid:

I gained confidence in my piecing skills. I also learned about contrast and value. I do think it helps to be a self motivated person, but there are Facebook groups to inspire and encourage members.

It also helps to remember that the 365 Challenge Project is not a race. There are people who complete their projects in 2 years instead of one. That’s okay!

Don’t compare your project with someone else’s project. I didn’t follow directions, and added sashing to my variation. I should have planned it better, but I am happy with it! Each project is unique to the maker! Have fun!

I am linking up with other challenge participants over at Dreamworthy Quilts for the April updates.

Have fun and carry on!

What a gorgeous finish, Laura! I love the colors you made this in, and your quilting is amazing, too. I don’t think it matters how long a project takes – it’s good to enjoy the process and celebrate the finish!

    • I agree, Diann. Why quilt, or make a garment, or paint, or write, or do anything creatively if we don’t enjoy it? 🙂

I appreciate that you love the colors, too!

    • Thank you Eva! It is practice, practice, and more practice. It is also far from perfect, but you can’t see the imperfections from the photos. I am happy with it, and I am ready to move on. 🙂

  14. Wow! What an amazing quilt. Although it may not show up across the whole quilt I think all that patchwork piecing deserves the full-on quilting treatment you bestowed on it – simply beautiful 🙂
