It has been a while since I joined OMG (One Monthly Goal), and I miss it. OMG is a great way to keep me accountable and move projects forward!
This year, I would like to improve my piecing (and bust some stash), so I am doing the Kathryn Kerr 365 Challenge. I learned about this challenge over a year ago, being inspired by myquiltprojects. She has completed her beautiful challenge while I spent all of last year collecting the patterns. This year I will do the piecing!
My January goal is to complete a month’s worth of blocks (all of January’s blocks). I have two done.
The 365 Challenge is my January OMG goal, but I also hope to get all of the stitching-in-the-ditch quilting done on the Christmas Lone Star project.
That will be enough since I don’t want to fill up my time with deadlines this year.
I am linking up to Elm Street Quilts OMG. Click here to check out other goals and be inspired!
Happy New Year!
Quilt On!

I hadn’t heard of that challenge. I’m good watching you do it. Either the blocks are small or the quilt is ginormous.

The blocks are small. These two are 3.5″ unfinished. You can watch…that is what I did for a long time. 🙂

You’re really diving into retirement with both feet, aren’t you?! Good for you – those two new blocks are a great use of yellow. Yellow is a hard fellow to tame in quilt schemes and it seems you’ve got a knack for tackling him! (how’s that for a spontaneous rhymey-thought?)
Looking forward to your posts as 2022 unfolds!

The end result remains to be seen, Laura. Ha, ha! I do love yellow, but I don’t know about taming him.
It is only one block a day (occasionally a bonus block, too)…surely that won’t take up too much time? I won’t tell that I already spent time with Jack the Ripper on that one itty bitty yellow block. 🙂

Good to see Jack is keeping you an honest quilter!

Now that is the way to begin your “new life” as a retiree! Will this be all yellows?

Grey, green and yellow…here’s hoping it will turn out okay! It is like making a mystery quilt. 🙂

Thank you, Kathleen! As I am making these blocks, I have decided that this is not only an exercise in improving piecing skills, but also in learning to see value. 🙂

Gosh one block a day is quite a commitment! Good luck and enjoy the journey 🙂

It is new enough that I am looking forward to making a block every day, and since it isn’t too demanding, I think I’ll enjoy the whole process. 🙂

It is I who thanks you! 🙂
I’ve already been challenged to learn about value as much as about becoming a better piecer.
