I need motivation to work on projects that have been in the sewing studio for quite some time.
So I am joining the Chookshed Stitchers 2024 Challenge.
I have chosen and randomly numbered 10 sewing related projects. I think this will be a fun way to move things along (and maybe out)!
- Checkerboard Rails – in progress. I have to make more blocks for the size needed.
 2. 365 Challenge Quilt – the top is completed. I’d like to get it basted.

  3. Owl plushy kit – not started.
 4. Pajama bottoms – not started.
5.Unicorn pillow covers – not started.
  6. Santa door draft kit -not started.
I don’t know where these kits came from!

  7. Garden Baskets quilt – a bajillion hand appliqued leaves has stopped me in my tracks.

 8. Notebook covers – not started.
 9. Table runner – do something for the fun of it!
 10. Fall Moon embroidery – didn’t like the way the stitching looked, so put this project out of sight.
Have fun and carry on!
It is fun to see that you are starting some new things. That is always super fun!! I wish you well on your challenge journey. This will be fun!

Laura, I am so glad you joined in, and I look forward to getting to know you better through this challenge. It looks like you are looking forward to starting some new things as well as working on older ones. I think I always need the excitement of a new project while trying to still keep my UFOs list down.

That Challenge Quilt is a stunner…HiPri to get it done IMHO! Knowing you, you’ll end up getting most done while picking up a few new projects along the way. You go, girl!
BTW: I finally finished my 2 (started out as 3, but one got too wonky to fuss with) Christmas Cookie Mats I started in 2022 inspired by your post back then…I added thinsulate to the batting layer so I could use them as overall table ‘trivets’ too. Just thought you’d like to know.
Happy New Year, Laura!

Good luck with your list! Some of your planned starts should be quick finishes. I don’t remember the tree, but really like it.

I chose a few quick finishes (I hope) just so that I wouldn’t be overwhelmed and can congratulate myself…maybe with chocolate! 🙂

I am certainly hoping that this will be a fun way to declutter my mind and my sewing studio, Kathy! I might even make more blogger friends along the way as we motivate each other! 🙂

Good luck with your year of to-be-done-finishes! I have done APQS UFO challenge and find it helpful. I sort have a one a month rule for ufo/old projects beside what is in the pipeline…and sometimes I am better about it than others. I think deadlines do help us all finish things!

It will be a good year… for Ufos and new projects. My help to finish is when we plan a holiday. And untill this appointment this or that project must be finished or in a special status (ready for binding, top finished, ready for quilting). And I learned not to start toooo much and concentrate.
But here is a lovely audience who is motivating each other. Have a healthy and good 2024.
