I wasn’t home to declare a March OMG goal, but I have one. I wanted to complete all of the March 365 Challenge blocks.
And so I have.
I have also finished most of the STID (stitch-in-the-ditch) on my daughter’s patriotic quilt. The majority of the basting pins have been removed.
I shared about this quilt in this post.
The quilt sandwich is stable now (the layers are secure), and some of the weight is lightened without those pins.
The quilt is now marinating while I decide how to quilt it.
Most of the snow is gone, and the past couple of days have been warm (upper 50’s and 60 degrees). I am so excited to be home to enjoy spring! I’ve been out raking and discovering lots of spring bulbs popping up!
I am linking up with OMG at Elm Street Quilts. Hop on over there and check out the wonderful projects that others are doing!
Quilt On!
Cudo’s for your 365 quilt and I like the Patriotic quilt, do not remember seeing it before, but who knows, mind is going with all the great things happening in our world (a little sarcasm). Hugs

Fantastic progress, Laura! I have to ask – what do you have in mind for the backing fabric on the first one pictured?

I have no idea, Laura! Ha, ha! Oh wait…you don’t mean the backing, right? You mean the background? I am using a very light gray that is in the center block pictured in this post:

Nice progress this month! Most of the snow is gone here, too, but more in the forecast for this week. Thankfully, it won’t last long at this time of year!

Progress is going to slow way down, I think, Wendy. Now that the weather is changing, I plan on being outdoors quite a bit. 🙂

Thank you, Janice…yes, most of the blocks are only 3.5″ and some do have a lot of little pieces! Hopefully, I am learning to be more accurate, but I still need Jack ever present. 🙂

That quilt is going to marinate for a while…the snow is nearly gone, and the sun is shining! Out the door I go! 🙂

You did great with the March blocks and your in the ditch quilting. Are all the blocks the same size on your daughter’s quilt? Thinking you could pick one or two motifs and alternate them. There are so many choices with quilting motifs now, it is nearly impossible to pick!

Yes, Kathleen…all the blocks are the same size. I was thinking the same thing as you. The thing that holds me back the most is how to quilt the silhouettes. Quilt the background only? Quilt the whole thing, but what about thread color? 🙂

Good for you meeting goals you didn’t even set! lol When we have snow here in Alabama it melts later in the day the same day it falls.

I have never been to Alabama, Sandy. I didn’t know that it ever snowed there! Maybe someday I can visit your state and explore. 🙂
