I fell behind in the Chookshed Stitchers 2024 Challenge, but I am moving projects forward from my challenge list.
I am happy to share that June’s project, #10, really is finished! I found a frame that I like so here ya go:
In July, the #1 was drawn, and my #1 is my Checkerboard Rails project. The design is from Bonnie Hunter. I wanted to use up some of my hand-dyes and I am loving how this is turning out!
This baby is now a flimsy!
#3 was drawn in August. This plush owl kit from Connecting Threads has been taking up space in the sewing studio for who knows how long.
I have all three owls cut out and partly sewn, so this project is on the move!
September’s number is #7. My #7 is the Garden Baskets project. I used my hand-dyes for this project as well.

I got bored with this, and it has really slowed me down. I must’ve been delirious when I decided that I would hand stitch a couple of hundred leaves in the borders.
Putting Garden Baskets on my challenge list was a great idea, since I am moving this forward!
As you can see from the photos, I have finished one border and am making good progress on a second one.

October’s project is notebook covers. It is the last of this year’s Chookshed Stitchers Challenge 2024. I am taking a trip to see family shortly, and may not get to this last number from the challenge list. At least not in October.

Your checkerboard/railfence is stunning! Plus, I’m happy you got your tree piece framed, it really is worthy of the honor – plus now you can more easily display/hang it some place where you can gaze upon it and enjoy it!

About those pjs…pattern suggestions? I have tons of suitable flannel to use, even some elastic for the waistband! My one pair I bought on clearance for $5 has become threadbare. I keep thinking I’ll find some flannel sleep pants for a reasonable price. Nope!

Thanks Laura, I have been trying to catch up with project goals. Don’t know that I will finish, since there are still things to deal with concerning Mom’s estate, but I am happy with any progress.
I really like both the rail fence and embroidery projects. I brought home all of Mom’s embroidery supplies, so there will be more hand work in my future.
Pjs…I used a very simple, easy to sew, multi-sized pattern that I downloaded from the internet. I don’t remember from where and I am not at home for another 2 weeks to look and see. (You may have to remind me.) If you live in pjs, then I suggest adding pockets or finding a pattern with pockets. 😉

You’re right about those pockets! However, I have to say – I don’t **live** in pjs…just extend the time I wear them in the morning! 😉

Well done you! As for the leaves, I feel your pain! My solutions was to sit down and do a leaf or two in the morning, at lunch and after dinner. I didn’t always sit down 3x a day, but I found that I would often get 3-4 done, and over the course of the week it multiplies substantially, making me more inclined to find a book or movie to out on and spend a serious amount of time over the weekend. It is going to be so gorgeous, well worth the effort!

Wow ~ all your projects are amazing! I had to lol when I read about hand stitching all the leaves onto your project (which by the way is fabulous) You should join the hand quilt along that Kathy hosts (you see it on my posts) we’d love to have you join. The June #10 turned out fabulous. I love it! Have a wonderful crafty week ahead 🙂
