A Stroll in the Garden

Butterflies are nature’s angels.
They remind us what a gift it is to be alive.

Butterflies can’t see their wings.
They can’t see how truly beautiful they are,
but everyone else can.
People are like that as well.

How does one become a butterfly?
You have to want to learn to fly so much that you
Are willing to give up being a caterpillar.

Perhaps the butterfly is proof that you can go through a great deal of darkness and still become something beautiful.

Beautiful and graceful, varied and enchanting, small but approachable, butterflies lead you to the sunny side of life. And everyone deserves a little sunshine.

Hubby and I depend upon a gravity spring for our water.  This year the spring was not enough for the house and the gardens.  So we decided that it was time to put in a well.

We’ve waited.

And waited.

Finally, this week, this happened:

Home Sweet Home -Drilling

There is a stake showing where to drill.  Meanwhile, the excavation had to happen in order to bring in the drilling equipment (not so easy when one lives on the side of a mountain).

Looking down to our driveway (lost one pear, and one apple tree to the excavation):

And this week:

Well, I must endure the presence of a few caterpillars if I wish to become acquainted with the butterflies.

  1. Ouch! But having access to precious water is going to be worth it in the long run! Those butterfly photos are magnificent, they are looking at us!

    • Thanks, Kathy! I am hoping the drilling doesn’t have to go down too far for that precious water! I am very excited to get it!

I am pretty pleased with myself! Love the butterfly pics, too! 🙂

  2. Hi Laura! Great job on the butterfly photos! Oh gosh, I hope they don’t have to drill too far down. It reminds me of the old movie Mr. Blanding Builds His Dream House. You will definitely have better luck with your well than he did! {Hugs} ~smile~ Roseanne

  3. Oh those butterflies and their messages…a delight.
As for your well…that’s where I hope those ‘still waters’ don’t run too deep!

  4. What an amazing view! I guess once the drilling is done you can have a lot of fun restoring the banks and planting them up 🙂

  6. Can’t live without water. Look at it as a blank canvas. You can put what you want there.
