Silk Path is a Flimsy!

I started this Bonnie Hunter design in January 2025.

Bonnie Hunter Silk Path Pattern

And it isn’t finished yet, but at least it is a flimsy and has advanced to the marinating closet!

It measures about 86″ square. That will change after quilting, squaring up, and washing.

Have fun and carry on!

Charms from the 90’s Update

I settled on a star layout for the half-square triangles made from the 1990’s charm squares.

I don’t have a large wall, or the floor space, to lay out blocks, but we all make do with what we do have.

90's Charm Squares

The stars are set with squares and this was simple to stitch up.

I had enough parts left over (including the odd sized half-square that I threw in the parts department and retrieved) to make two more star blocks for the back.

All marked and pinned.

I have chosen to do easy cross-hatching with a walking foot.

Nothing fancy to see here.

Checkerboard Rail Fence

I began making Bonnie Hunter’s checkerboard rail fence pattern in September 2023 with the idea of using up my stash of hand dyed fabric.

Rail Fence

I thought that this project would be colorful and fun.

And it is!

Rail Fence

The flimsy was completed in September 2024.

It took a year because I had joined a challenge group and worked through a project a month, so it was often set aside.

That’s okay. This is a hobby, not a job!

Rail Fence

It has taken another year to get to the finish line. Partly procrastination. Partly life events (I am so far behind in reading all of the wonderful blog posts by internet friends, but I will get back into the swing of things).

And I have made it to the finish line!

The back is made from more hand dyes…so happy to use them up!

All quilted and bound!

I will wash it to get that wonderful texture that so many of us love!

Have fun and carry on!
