Sewing Box Scraps

I recently made a seasonal table topper using Kathleen Tracy‘s pattern from A Prairie Journey.

I liked it so much! It was fast and it was easy to make! You can see that post by clicking here.

So I decided to make another table topper, or placemat, for the Christmas season.

Ta da!

It is hard to take a decent picture on a gray rainy day!

I know that you can’t see it, but all of the red and gold scraps have a metallic sheen to them.

I also quilted it with gold Sulky sliver thread that I have had in my stash forever (love this stuff)!

Have fun and carry on!

Who What and Where Owls

My previous progress with these owl plush stuffies showed them cut out and partially sewn.

I am happy to say that #3 (drawn in August) from my Chookshed Stitchers 2024 Challenge list is now finished!

Yes, they do stand on their own!

Each one has a weighted bag in the bottom of the toy (could have used rice, but I have a tote of BB ammo to use up).

These guys are soft and cuddly!

I inherited a cute little cabinet from my Mom, and I wanted to make a seasonal table topper for it.

A Prairie Journey by Kathleen Tracy features sweet mini quilts. Kathleen uses reproduction fabrics to make her minis.

Since I wanted a seasonal table topper, I chose to make my version in orange, black and white.

I have lots of scraps cut into 1-1/2″ strips and this mini is a fun way to use them!

My mini version measures about 15-1/2″ x 17-1/2″.
