Cutting Tumblers and Squares

I have spent a couple of pleasant rainy afternoons cutting, cutting, and cutting some more.

I cut lots of tumbler pieces from another stack of those ’90s charm squares.

90's Charm Squares

I cut from all of the blues that I had left, so this project is going to be random scrappy.

I don’t know how many I have, so I don’t know what size, or even what it is, that I am making.

Placemats? Crib quilt?

I also cut out stacks of 15″ squares to be sewn into a backing for the Silk Path flimsy.

Why 15″, you ask?

That is the size of my largest square ruler.

As long as I was sorting through the neutral fabric chunks to cut large squares, I also cut remnants into useable sizes of strips and squares. You will have to trust me on this since I didn’t take a photo of these.

I feel so accomplished and organized!

I have a trip coming up soon, so the sewing will commence at a future date, but these projects will be ready when I am.

Have fun and carry on!

Previous Projects:

Sewing Studio Table Runners

I adapted the Mini Charm Mix free table runner pattern to make two table runners to fit two sets of shelves that the Hubster had built for my sewing studio.

The pattern is easy to follow.

It also includes size charts for a baby quilt and a lap sized quilt.

Go scrappy, seasonal, or use a controlled color scheme…this works with it all!

I chose fabrics to match the sewing machine cover and the sewing machine mat that I made previously for my decompression chamber (aka…the sewing studio).

I have metal magazine holders, and I did not want them scratching up my newly painted shelves!

I have not gotten magazines since 2006, and I have decluttered quite a bit, but I do have some oldies but goodies that I still enjoy.

The Hubster will be putting peg board up in these odd shaped spaces.
