I feel so validated as I share this post.
We are in the midst of a snowstorm.
Therefore, I feel pretty good about sharing that my hand stitchery project is all about the snowman.
No Easter bunnies here.
You know that I can never seem to do anything ‘in season’.
The first block is stitched. I am considering adding beads, but I have time to think about that. I have four more blocks to go.
The pattern is designed by Erica Plank from Unseen Hands.
I have had the pattern for many years, but when I was ready to settle down and make these blocks…well…I couldn’t find my pattern.
I am normally very good at filing my patterns.
While working through Karen Brown’s Declutter Challenge this year, I found the pattern. Right where it should be.
How did that happen?
Does that happen to you, too?
I am not sure that I will make the quilt, yet. I just really wanted to stitch the snowmen.
At my pace, there is all the time in the world to decide that later.
Have fun and carry on!

What fun to hear you’re having a snowstorm when it’s 80 degrees F here!

A perfect project for a snowstorm! Yes, that happens to me, too. Glad you found the pattern!

Thank you Wendy! And when it is 80 degrees here, like it is now for Zippy, working on a snowman will be a wonderful illusion. 😁

The snow is gone and we have had rain all day. I don’t mind the weather one bit. I get to stay in and sew, read, bake bread…whatever I feel like. It is a good life. 🙂

Cute pattern. I’ve not heard of that designer. I hate it when things hide in plain sight. For some reason it makes them harder to find.

Yeah…I pick on the Hubster because he can never see what is right in front of his face, and then there is me. Ha, ha!
I met Erica, the designer, many years ago when I had an online fabric shop. I was selling her patterns, and I invited her to visit my quilt guild. She gave a nice presentation. 🙂

That’s interesting. I never knew you had an online shop!

It was a long time ago. It was called LC’s Cottage…the same as my blog. It is the reason that I have so much older fabric that I am trying to use up now. 🤣

Great timing, Laura. Snowstorm = time to start a snowman quilt. Especially in April-that would be real snowman type snow.

Anytime is definitely the right time for a snowman! They are irresistible…like babies and puppy dogs. 🙂

So pretty! Crystal beads would add some sparkle. If not a quilt, what about some couch cushions? Spring is a funny season. We are bouncing around temperature wise and have 30-40 degree shifts from one day to the next.

I already have the beads, so, why not?
I am considering cushions. I have plenty of time to think about it. I do like the trees…just not crazy about the setting in the pattern.
Your weather sounds like mine. 🙂

Speaking from experience, pillow covers would be adorable. Maybe the snowman could stand beside that sweet tree block and make a square. It is spitting snow here at the moment, but we will take every drop at this point. After two days of ooze, we have finally reached .25 inch.

I remember your snowman covers, Kathy. You inspired me, but I couldn’t find my pattern. Ha, ha!
I do like the idea of the tree next to the snowman. 🙂
