Charms from the 90’s Finish

90's Charm Squares

I took those old 1990’s charms and finally made a quilt with them!

The quilt is about 42 inches by 52 inches. No particular reason for this size, except for the size, number and layout of the blocks that I ended up with.

90's Charm Squares

The quilt was machine quilted on my domestic Janome.

Some of the quilting was done with a walking foot, and some by free motion.

I like how it turned out!

I might be motivated to play with some more of these 1990’s charm squares and move them out!

How about you?

Do you have old charms that you were inspired to use? If so, what did you make?

Have fun and carry on!

That turned out beautifully, Laura! I love all the pretty blues. I have quite a few leftover charm squares from charm packs where I used up the pretty ones, and only the ugly ones are left. I keep trying to use them up, but never quite get through all of them!

  3. Congrats on the finish. I don’t have any charms that old, but do have some from the early 2000s. It was such a “thing” to trade them back before the fabric companies sold them in packs.

  4. Excellent! And I’m thinking that fence is meant to keep the deer out of the garden as well as being a place to hang quilts 😀

    • Your thinking is correct, Zippy! The little varmint that I really need to keep out is the chipmunk, but I haven’t figured that out. Truly, the cheeky little things make me laugh and I just can’t stay mad at them even when they eat all of the lettuce. 🤣
