HQAL March 2025

My hand quilting project has been to work on appliqueing the leaves onto the Garden Baskets quilt.

Here is where I was in the previous HQAL post:

Garden Baskets

If it weren’t for the great pillowcase race, I could have this done.

However, I am in a race against myself, and am a great procrastinator so far as this leafy border is concerned.

In spite of myself, I did make time to work on the border. I have about 24 leaves left to applique.

Garden Baskets

I believe I can get this thing done!

This Hand Quilt Along is an opportunity for hand quilters and piecers to share and motivate one another. We post every three weeks, to show our progress and encourage one another.  If you have a hand quilting project and would like to join our group contact Kathy at the link below.

  2. Such a stunning quilt! At 24 leaves, you can do 4/day and be done in a week! You go girl!

    • I tell myself that, Kathy, but I am going to stretch that out because I want the pillowcases done and gone. 3 or 4 more days of those and then try to be disciplined enough to stitch 4 a day.

Inch by inch, everything is a cinch. Do you tell yourself that, too? I am so impressed by your self-discipline! 🙂

  3. Fantastic! This quilt has waited patiently (and nagging-ly?) for lots longer than the rest of those pillowcases. It’s time for them to wait while you lovingly & doggedly complete your Garden Baskets quilt. Enjoy! 😉

    • Oh, yes…very naggingly for sure! Can’t wait to declutter my mind of this thing, Laura! Nevertheless, I am going to get the pillowcases done first. We will be going to the big city soon, and I want to take them with me, so I do have a self-imposed deadline that I am shooting for.

I don’t know about lovingly, but doggedly fits. 🙂
