Progress is happening!
I am really loving how my bear paw quilt is looking!
It is difficult to tell from the photos, but the background is a soft grey print, not white.
It has been a challenge for sure. A bit of unsewing has happened. And, apparently, I have an ultra scant 1/4″ seam allowance. “Personal Private Measurement”, as one of my all-time favorite quilt teachers would say. I still cherish Mary Ellen Hopkins book…‘The It’s Okay If You Sit On My Quilt’.
My blocks are a bit larger than Lorna’s pattern says they should be. No biggie…I am making adjustments for that.
I still have the borders to sew. Slow and steady; I’ll get there.
I am linking up at Sew Fresh Quilts.
Absolutely gorgeous Modern Bear Paw Quilt. Total #CreativeGoodness. Certainly inspires me to want one exactly like yours. Love it.

Wow! Thank you so much, Daisy! I gotta give credit to Lorna, who designed the quilt and then I fell in love with her design.
I have some of the borders sewn, but it will be a while before I can finish. Holidays, company and the busiest time of the year for the job all take precedence. I’ll get there.
So…when are you making this pattern? 🙂

I getting ready to make that quilt now! I’m pretending the bear paw blocks are leaves and making them from a variety of prints in fall colors. Not sure what color I want my bear yet. I love Lorna’s quilts. I’ve made a couple of her patterns, but this one looks much more involved. I hope I can handle it! Lol
Your whole quilt is just beautiful. I especially like your bear. It’s an awesome color.

You can handle it, Becky! Especially since you are already familiar with Lorna’s patterns! There are a lot of pieces…label them if that helps you!
I thought about fall prints as well when I was putting my version together. I don’t know why, but somehow I abandoned the green and red and went to gold and brown. I think getting all of those fall colors in will make a spectacular quilt!
Bears live in my back yard…I’ve seen them in a variety of black, brown and cinnamon. Your quilt is going to be wonderful!
