HQAL February 2025

I am delighted to share progress with the HQAL group! Knowing that I have to be accountable to you gals has definitely had an impact on me!

Here is where I left off with my embroidery last month:

In the meantime, painting has been happening!

I was sad to see the rest of the green go, and sadder to see the reminder go (somedays I really need it)!

However, my creative daughter says that she can make a new reminder for me, and that makes me joyful!

Sewing Studio

The Hubster will finish up the trim (I only do the sloppy stuff) and then we work on the floor (or maybe only he works on the floor).

Sewing Studio

It has been very cold outside!

However, the sun did show up for a couple of days. It didn’t warm up, but the snow disappeared for a time.

Winter Home

I have finished the next block, except for washing and blocking. I may just wait until all of the blocks are stitched before I do that.

The next cutie bee is traced and on the frame.

I hope to finish it before checking in next month!

Have fun and carry on!

This Hand Quilt Along is an opportunity for hand quilters and piecers to share and motivate one another. We post every three weeks, to show our progress and encourage one another.  If you have a hand quilting project and would like to join our group contact Kathy at the link below.

  3. What do I see first, the few out of your window! Real winter! Wow! I can understand how hard it is to say good bye to your green room but you will love your new one! We are not easy in changing things when we get older, is my experience. In younger years, we dont count. But hey, its the same house, same room and if it is really toooo mich, donate and dot put all back. Only that one, you love to keep and love to work with. Make a fleemarket for friends.. and the things you dont loke any more had a happy live with you bit now are allowed to live somewhere else. Love that you back posting. Applause for your hubby who is doimg that for you! Love your handstiching!

  4. Thank you so much, Eva! Real winter it is, and a very mild one this year, too! Thank you for your encouragement as well! I do have plans for a lot of this yardage, including pillowcases and scrappy projects for donations and gifts. Thanks to the Declutter Challenge, I have rehomed some books, patterns and fabric.

The Hubster has been terrific, and the painting and flooring was actually his idea! 🙂

Your bee embroidery is adorable, Laura! And looks like the studio painting is going great. I bet painting everything white is a big change! A fresh coat of paint is always good!

    • Thank you, Diann! This is a big change for sure; I’ve lived with that bright green a long time! Overdue for a change, I guess, and I will be able to see better! I am looking forward to it! 🙂
