During my sewing studio declutter, I chose to work on Bonnie Hunter’s Silk Path quilt project.
Why choose a project to work on during a declutter session? Karen Brown suggests a timer for the declutter and a project for the reward from decluttering.
I think it is a great idea!
You are looking at 549 completed strip sets made from scraps!
I am so happy to move a lot of these brown scraps out of a drawer and into a project!
I will be turning these strip sets into blocks, but that is for another day.
I have done some decluttering, but the Hubster and I decided it was time for a redo.
There will be more than just some decluttering happening!
This is the last time we will see the lime green, black and white.
Upon closer inspection, you can see that the flooring is worn out.
Boring peel and stick flooring will replace the black and white, and the walls will be painted a super light grey. It will be better for crafting and sewing (and older eyes). The green absorbed the light and the room will be brighter when it is redone.
Have fun and carry on!

Your space will look like an entirely new room! Love those green walls, but I understand what you mean. I considered green for my studio walls, but ended up with a lighter white/cream because it’s easier for photos, etc.

I will miss those green walls, Wendy, but it is time for a change for sure! I am looking forward to it! 🙂

That’s a lot of piecing, Laura! Great idea–piecing for a reward! I’m looking forward to your studio re-do!

Whenever one chooses a BH pattern, there is a lot of piecing! But that also means a lot of scraps get used, too! That’s the plan this year…use up that stash and free up some space! 🙂

“a timer for the declutter and a project for the reward from decluttering”. Sounds similar to my “Ankara Reward” for time on my priority focus (music). Even though doing both are hugely huge rewarding in and of themselves, for each hour of dedicated music focus, I accrue 10minAR…it makes for a balanced life.
I can’t wait to see your new space evolve – even if it means giving up those ‘Laura Lime Green’ walls.

I love that you got those done due to Karen’s prompts. Hooray! I need to get back to them, they are really good. Love that you are redoing your room, too. I had light grey walls and really liked them, I think you will too.

I know that I will, Kathleen. I have that color in the rest of the house. I cannot wait until it is done, and I can get back to sewing projects! 🙂
