My January OMG (One Monthly Goal) was to complete all of January’s 365 Challenge blocks.
31 blocks are completed, along with 1 bonus block. I am sure glad to have the bonus block, since I feel that the last block that I made is too light. That’s a value combination that should be used when I make the lighter blocks.
I think.
I also completed all of the stitch-in-the-ditch on the Christmas Lone Star.
Now that it is stabilized, and most of the pins removed, I will have to make a decision on how to complete the quilting.
I am linking up with Elm Street Quilts OMG. Hop on over there and be inspired by the other goal setters that have linked up! It is inspiring and encouraging!
Quilt On!

January blocks finished early, you are on a mission, girl! They are looking great!

Great job, Laura! One extra block might just come in handy some day . . . and you’ll be all set. I seem to have missed the SITD boat. I never do that unless that’s my quilting plan. I look forward to seeing where you go with quilting and to February’s blocks. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

Thanks, Roseanne! I will no doubt have several extra blocks before I am done. Ha, ha!
I know there are quilters who SITD and those who don’t. Sometimes I think I’ll be brave and skip it, but I never do. I find it easier to free motion quilt without the weight of the safety pins or worrying about shifting fabric (and I actually free motion quilted the straight stitching in the ditch). 🙂

Wonderful blocks. Is this a camouflage colorway? I’m working on a camo quilt for my son.

Thanks for stopping by, Kirsten! I hadn’t thought of camo…I chose a colorway from what I have in my stash…but I sure can see it now that you mention it. 🙂

Congratulations, Laura! That is quite a feat in my book. That is quite the challenge and I am so impressed. They are quite striking. Will each month be a different color?

It is an odd color scheme…at least I think so, but I am sticking with brown-gray, yellow and green in various values. I began the challenge with the idea that I would improve my piecing skills, but I think I am going to learn more about value by the end of this year. 🙂 Thank you, Kathleen!
