A Stroll in the Garden

“Blossom by blossom the spring begins.”
 — Algernon Charles Swinburne

I am not having a vegetable garden this year, as my Hubby is creating a new one with easier access and easier to water, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t anything to see!

I live in the north, so my season is a bit behind other bloggers.

So enjoy this little garden stroll with me!

I almost missed the Crown Imperials; they bloomed while I was away on vacation.

I find it interesting that, in my garden at least, the tulips seem to bloom by color division, rather than color explosion.

The pink ones generally bloom first.

Then the red ones spring forth!

Last, but not least, the yellow tulips are just now beginning to flower.

The rock cress is wonderful!

While the grape hyacinth (and the giant ones, too) are nearly finished with their display.

While the hyacinths and daffodils fade, the narcissus is just beginning a happy show!

And the magnificent crabapple is teasing us!

  1. So pretty, Laura! I love bulbs, and am trying to find a place to plant them behind the fence in the vegetable garden. Deer love tulips and daffodils, and since they sleep in the font and walk through our backyard, there’s no hope anywhere but. Yours are just glorious!

It must be so refreshing to see all these beautiful flowers emerging after such a long Winter.
