Sewing Studio Table Runners

I adapted the Mini Charm Mix free table runner pattern to make two table runners to fit two sets of shelves that the Hubster had built for my sewing studio.

The pattern is easy to follow.

It also includes size charts for a baby quilt and a lap sized quilt.

Go scrappy, seasonal, or use a controlled color scheme…this works with it all!

I chose fabrics to match the sewing machine cover and the sewing machine mat that I made previously for my decompression chamber (aka…the sewing studio).

I have metal magazine holders, and I did not want them scratching up my newly painted shelves!

I have not gotten magazines since 2006, and I have decluttered quite a bit, but I do have some oldies but goodies that I still enjoy.

The Hubster will be putting peg board up in these odd shaped spaces.

Have fun and carry on!

Ironing Station

An item that has been on my to-list for some time was to create an ironing station in my sewing studio.

I am happy to say that it is finally completed! It didn’t even take that long to do!

Hubby cut a piece of plywood and glued leftover kitchen flooring to one side (no photo).

The other side of the wood has a layer of foam, followed by a layer of batting, followed by a layer of Insul-Bright and topped with a cotton polka dot print.

The board rests on three Ikea sets of drawers and measures 21″ x 65″.

Ta da! I am happy!

Organizing Paper

In the spirit of decluttering and organization in January, I have stopped everything (but the day job) to clean up my catch-all basket of shame.

Organizing Paper

Well…alright…there was more than one catch-all basket of patterns and ideas and such (I even found the crepe recipe that my son-in-law gave me who knows how long ago! How did that get in there?).

It all started when I realized that I couldn’t find what I was looking for.

Isn’t that how it always starts?

Organizing Paper

Organizing this stuff is hazardous!  I could get sooooo easily side-tracked!

I want to begin something new.

More than one something.

Gotta stay focused!

For fun; here is a photo of one of my poinsettias blooming.  I have two that are several years old.

And, yes…I am so proud that in spite of myself, and living in a northern clime, that these two plants are still doing so well.

Stay Safe!
