My April OMG (One Monthly Goal) was to stitch the applique down on my birdhouse UFO. I not only finished the applique, but I finished the entire wall hanging and posted about it here.
My main goal was to be sure that I didn’t fall behind in the 365 Challenge project, and finish all of April’s blocks. In February, we pieced the center block, and in March we made more dark blocks for the first border.
This month, more dark blocks were made (and a few light ones), and the dark border was pieced to the center.
And then I suddenly remembered that I wanted to switch my version up a bit and add sashing. I had to get Jack the Ripper to help me undo all that stitching so that I could insert the sashing (no photo of Jack helping me out…he isn’t shy; just vicious, and I shouldn’t show that on the blog).
My piecing isn’t great (hence the purpose of making this quilt…lots of practicing and never reaching perfection going on). There are cut off points. I’ll just put that out there now, since there are those who look fairly closely.
I will even share some close ups, and maybe some of you who are hesitant because your piecing isn’t perfect might feel better about sharing your wonderful projects! I, for one, love Show and Tell!
We are currently making 6.5″ blocks, instead of the 3.5″ blocks.
And I am all caught up for April!
