Ozark Trails Quilt Block

This week, I am showing the Ozark Trails quilt block.

Ozark Trail Quilt Block

It is drawn with a 5 x 5 or a 10 x 10 grid.

Two color quilts are very traditional and wonderful.

But it is so much fun to add more color!  Here is the same block with sashing and cornerstones added:

How about rotating the alternate blocks?

Or moving the color around and adding an alternate block?

Setting a block on point will often present a totally different and surprising look.

It is the same block in the center; but the color has been moved around:

The Case of the Secret Garden – Part 4

Clue #4 of The Case of the Secret Garden Inklingo Mystery had detectives printing, cutting and sewing spokes of the New York Wheel.

For Clue #5, detectives are still printing and cutting.  We are also still sewing our wheels.

Thank goodness for the registration marks on these curved pieces!  Thank you Linda and Monkey!

Jalene’s Memory Quilt – Part 2

We are hard at work, rotary cutting the pieces for the quilt.

Jalene brought her sewing machine with her.  She has never used it (but her grandmother has).  It had never been cleaned, so we talked about how to clean and care for it.  In the above photo, Jalene is learning how to sew a 1/4″ seam and making four-patches.  I sent her home with homework…lots of four-patches!

And the above photos show a much more confident Jalene!  She finished the four patches and is doing great piecing the top!  She’ll finish the top at home, and the next time we meet, we’ll be adding borders.
