Iris Wall Hanging Finished

This project began as a request from my Step-Mom (whose name just happens to be Iris).

She wanted an iris wall hanging for a certain space in her home, so the project was limited to size.

She has never asked me for anything, so I really wanted to do this for her!

I tried to finish by her birthday, and I would have, too, if it hadn’t of been for a broken part on my sewing machine and Covid.

No matter!

Iris will have her wall hanging for Christmas!

I don’t do a lot for a label, but it does have one!

And the iris fabric on the back was one of the pieces that Iris gave me to use for the project.

I was going to echo quilt a .25 inch around the iris (it is closely outlined with invisible thread), but then I immediately forgot that I was going to do that, and just forged ahead with the background filler. Oops.

Quilt On!

Another Bats and Boos Update

Tis the season to be all about Christmas, but I am determined to finish Bats and Boos before the new year. I really don’t want to carry this project over.

It is slow going, since I am too tired after the day job to want to spend time on this.

Nevertheless, progress is happening. Last time that I shared, Bats and Boos had been pin basted.

Let the quilting begin!

Now that the main features are quilted, I am on to the borders!

Let’s Sew Quilt Along Finish!

I can finally put the Let’s Sew quilt project on the finish line!

Woo hoo!

Lets Sew Quilt Along

Bulky seams and tension problems created some time with Jack the Ripper, but we worked it out together.

This quilt spent a lot of wait time spread out on the cutting table.

So much time that the Quilt Inspector created her own artsy addition; enough kitty hair to make a carpet overlay.

I guess she assumed ownership and was using the quilt for her mattress.

Then she must have changed her mind about the sleeping arrangement, because she barfed on the quilt (Was I not supposed to tell you that?).

The commercial orange fabric bled when I cleaned up after the Inspector.

These things never happen to anyone else.  Right?
