A Stroll in the Garden

The Hubby grabbed his camera, and went out to the garden for a few photos to share.

Mama and baby quail are out and about (only one baby in this photo, but there are nine in her family).

This is a red breasted nuthatch. Nuthatches are tree climbers, and we have lots of them.

This nuthatch is climbing on the oak tree. He is coming down to drink from the water fountain on the deck.

I have spent some time canning peaches. I get a lot of satisfaction from this!

Meanwhile, back out in the garden, there are still some lovely blooms happening!

Stay safe.

Nisqually Wildlife Refuge

*Warning: Picture heavy post!

This will be my last post on what I did during vacation.  I had such a grand time with my family, and I appreciate them so much!

Our son and daughter-in-law took Hubby and I to another wonderful wildlife refuge.  I would come back again and again if I could!  This one is called the Nisqually Wildlife Refuge.  There is so much to explore, I barely touched the surface.  I wish I had better photos, but you will get the idea.  There were a lot of eagles, but they weren’t interested in a photo shoot.

Here is another link that shares about the refuge.

These last few photos Hubby took with his pocket camera.  There were so many waterfowl creatures, and plenty of bird watchers and better photographers than we out this day!

Western Flycatchers

No bird soars too high, if he soars with his own wings. -William Blake

Just thought I would share a photo of the new babies nesting next to my front porch light.  Enjoy!

Hubby took this photo for me.
