July OMG 2017 Goal

The UFO goal for July was announced by Judy, at Patchwork Times.

This month, the #12 was chosen.  My #12 is the blocks that quilt guild members made for me when I served as the guild president.

President's Blocks

I served as President of the Colville Piecemakers Quilt Guild 1999-2001.  I have thirty six signed blocks given to me when my term was up.

My goal for this month is to come up with a plan to put these blocks together.  I don’t expect to get beyond the planning stage, since summer is a busy time, but having a plan is good progress.

I am linking up with Elm Street Quilts for One Monthly Goal (OMG).  Head on over to see what everyone else is doing!

Slow Sunday Stitching

It is summer and there are lots of things to do, so I haven’t been embroidering.

I’m slower than ever.  Ha, ha!

But there is a little progress on Block 15 of Aunt Bea’s Parlor.

I am linking up with Kathy’s Quilts Slow Sunday Stitching.  Head on over there, and get inspired!

Alaska Railroad Denali Star

My life is boring since coming home from Alaska.  Ha, ha!

If you are planning a trip to Alaska, you might like to consider riding the Alaska Railroad Denali Star Train.

Hubby and I rode the train from Anchorage to Denali Park, and we loved it.  Yes, it was a wet trip, and a long one, but well worth it anyway.  The scenery is gorgeous!  You can see wildlife, and we did, but we didn’t take pictures of any (except a nesting white swan, which nobody but us would recognize from our picture…hee, hee!). It isn’t easy taking pictures of wildlife from a moving train!

Since I did promise more photos in the previous post, the following is a slideshow with a few of our photos from the train trip.

There will be more photos for those who are interested.  Next up, Denali Park.
