The Hubster and I recently traveled from eastern Washington state, where we live, to western Washington state, where our son and his family live.
It was so good to see them!
We are super proud grandparents to have had the opportunity to attend our granddaughter’s high school graduation and our grandson’s college graduation! So fun!
We had another granddaughter graduate from high school as well. She lives in North Carolina, and we were privileged to watch her graduate from a live video presentation!
The family took us to Bolstad Ocean Beach where we listened to the ocean roar, chased seagulls, and simply enjoyed being there.
So refreshing!
“At the beach, life is different. Time doesn’t move hour to hour, but mood to moment. We live by the currents, plan by the tides, and follow the sun.” – Sandy Gingras
While I was visiting the family, my youngest sister’s light went out. Not unexpected, she had been ill a very long time, but heartbreaking nonetheless.
Her shining eyes, robust laughter, and light will be forever in my heart!

I’m so sorry for your loss, and sorry that your sister had to struggle with an illness for so long. Being at the beach at that time had to be a very peaceful feeling – that’s my favorite place to be. Love that picture of your grandkids, too – great milestones!

What a beautiful photo of Carol ~ May her memory be a blessing! We have corresponded behind the scene and my heart is with you as you navigate her loss and all the emotions that run with it. It’s never an easy path and this has been a difficult year for you and yet such beautiful highlights too. We are so lucky for video feeds and video calls. It sure makes the distance ok in many ways. Abundant hugs Laura

Thank you so much, Sharon! You are a blessing to me! Life wouldn’t be much of a life without the highs and lows to share with one another. There is a lot I don’t like about technology, but a lot to be grateful for, too!

Well, Laura, a time of celebration and a time of grief. So wonderful you could be with children and grandchildren. I am sorry to hear of your sister’s death; while expected it is never easier. I am sure, though, being around family helped a bit.
