The Magical Unicorn Update

I am not the greatest quilter in the world, so when it comes to backing, I choose a busy print.

I couldn’t find anything that I wanted to use in my stash.

No matter how big and varied the stash is, it is never right for the current project.

The Magical Unicorn

I had no intention of shopping and I had an ombre fabric in the stash.

Solid. Shows every boo-boo.

I went with it anyway.

The sister quilt isn’t started yet. I’ve got a couple of graduations and a garden to attend to, but it is on the radar. I will probably quilt it much the same so that I don’t have to think about how to quilt it (a huge procrastinating road block of mine).

Previous Magical Unicorn posts.

Have fun and carry on!

  2. I have that same problem with quilt backs – never the right one in my stash. I’m trying to get over that – haha! Your quilt looks great, and the quilting is nicely done! That backing works well!

  5. It looks great! Such a fun finish. I somehow stopped getting notices about new posts. I have a lot of posts to catch up on and will have to resubscribe.

  7. If you aren’t a “good quilter” then I am surely abysmal, because I struggle with almost everything. I can finally meander pretty nicely, and can do one straight line leaf motif; everything else is questionable, unless I am sewing on lined paper!

    • I doubt that you are an abysmal machine quilter, Kathy! You are very good with a lot of interests; machine quilting is just not at the top of the list. It could be, if you wanted it to be. 🙂

  8. I feel your pain about quilt backs. I sometimes buy some things thinking it will work and it is all wrong. I think you did a fabulous job quilting it, and that you are the only one who can pick out those mistakes. The recipients will love it and never ever ever know.
