The Hubster and I took a day out to hike and picnic.

We chose the Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge.
The day was mostly clear and slightly chilly.
Look bravely up into the sky,
And be content with knowing
That God wished for a buttercup
Just here, where you are growing.

I thought it would be more spring like. You know, green and full of birds.
I guess we were a bit too early since some of the water still had ice formations.
No matter.
We had a wonderful hike and picnic!
And I found my first buttercup!
Buttercups, bright eyed and bold, hold their chalices of gold to catch the sunshine and the dew. -Julia Caroline Dorr
We will be back!
See the world around you!

Lovely walk. There really aren’t many things better in life than a nature walk. Fresh air always feels so good.

You are so right, Deana! I may not have seen many birds or lots of green, but I still had a great outing! 🙂

Bright yellow sunshine cup of happiness! That’s a buttercup for sure! It has the same effect as sunflowers in the fall. 🙂

The water was so blue, beautiful, and the buttercup, the perfect frosting on the cake.

It was a good day for sure, Kathy! The last couple of days have been cold and snowy! 🙂

Love the buttercup! It is nice to get outside after the winter, even if it was only in between the next snow!
