Millersylvania State Park

Our son and daughter-in-law, who live near Olympia, Washington, treated us to a hike at Millersylvania State Park.

The 903 acre park is an old growth forest with camping, boating, hiking, biking, bird watching, fishing, and swimming beaches on Deep Lake. It was built by the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) in 1935 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

I understand the park is a very busy destination in the summer, but on this day, in October, the park was a sheer delight to be in.

    • Yes, Eva, there are so many things to see. The Hubster and I will be going back as soon as we have opportunity! The forest on the west coast is way different from the forest where I live…it is dry here. Even so, I love all the forests! Yes to hug a tree!

If it weren’t for photos, I would miss a lot in the world, too, Eva! 🙂
