I have made bowl cozies before, but they were all given away as gifts.
It is nearly chili and soup weather!
When the Hubster figured out that I was making bowl cozies, he got excited.
We are going to be using these!
I have also made potato bags and given them away.
I needed another for a quick gift and it sure doesn’t take long to make these!
One of the things that I wanted to do this year was use up some of my hand dyes.
I have chosen Bonnie Hunter’s Checkerboard Rails pattern to help me out.
This is very easy sewing and I think I have enough rail fence blocks made for a good-sized quilt.
I do need to make more four patches and then I will lay this out and see if I have enough.
Have fun and carry on!

Your hand dyed fabric is beautiful! Makes me think I should get mine out.

Can’t wait to see the top together. I have a drawer of hand dyed and painted fabric. Also need to use mine, feeling the urge to dye more.

I am hoping that I picked a good pattern to both use it up and show it off, Donna. I have no room to store more hand dyes, so I gotta stop petting it and use it! Ha, ha! 🙂

Hi Laura! Ooh, those are some pretty fabrics to make a fun quilt. Chili and soup weather?!! Well, I guess it’s not far off . . . but today it’s in the mid-90s and very humid. I’m not thinking about either soup or chili. It always gets hot here right for the start of school. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

Too warm here, too, Roseanne, but at least I don’t have to deal with the humidity! However, I am ready when it is chili, soup and stew time! 🙂

Love those bowls! And you have a great start to a new quilt top. I always like how black and white checkers can tie in an array of fabric colors. Looking forward seeing those rail fences come together.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, Laura.
