We experienced our first winter snowstorm of the season.
*Clicking on a photo will give you a closer look!
It knocked out our power for about 45 hours.
It wasn’t a hardship for Hubby and me. We did fine with the woodstove, the barbecue, and the gravity spring.
The transparent apple tree and well behind the house.
So I had a little fun and went outside with my camera and took a few photos of the snow as it was coming down.
And I went out early on the morning after and photographed the sunrise.
The view from the side yard of the house.
As the sun rose higher, and the clouds burned off, I took a few photographs of a beautiful day!
Two photos from the same viewpoint…one at sunrise, and one in full daylight. I love them both!
Clearly, there is no power flowing through this line!
The view from the front of the house.
Hubby drove off to town to charge our devices.
Life is good.
Stay healthy.
Stay safe.
Keep smiling.
See the world around you!

Most certainly the camera is your friend 🙂 the pictures are gorgeous. I especially love the pics with the flowers peaking out. Wagon wheel, windmill …dreamy shots! We had our first dusting of snow on the 7th here. It seemed very early to me and our temps are already dipping into the 20’s. It didn’t last and melted off with the sun which finally had and has appeared.

Thank you, Sharon! Some of the snow has melted here, but it is still a winter wonderland. And cold this morning, currently 16 degrees! 🙂

45 hours! That was one of the longest outages in this area. You certainly made the best of it with your positive attitude and beautiful pictures.

Yeah, Bert, it was a long one for sure! We checked with neighbors, and, fortunately, everyone coped well! 🙂

While your vacay photos were beautiful…I am forever tethered in heart with my mountains. These mt photos remind me of home in Colorado…but sparkle with truly Pacific NWestern specific accents!
Are those purple asters in the snowy photo above?

Our hearts share the mountains, Laura! Yes, indeed, those are asters. They are always the last to bloom in the garden…I love them just because they are late bloomers! 🙂

Two whole days, you definitely had to get into pioneer mode! We have oil lamps for just such an occasion. We have been burning old wood this week, I think tomorrow we will fire up the stove downstairs too. It’s just an insert, but I wish it had a cook top, that would be so nice!

Yup…we also have oil lamps. They have come in handy many a time over the years!
Our woodstove doesn’t have a cook top. We put racks on it, and then put a pot on the rack. The stove is plenty hot to heat with. 🙂

The photos are beautiful, but sorry to hear of the long power outage. I especially love the photo of the asters under the snow! We have yet to have cold enough weather for snow, but it is coming soon!

What gorgeous photos! I love the snow – when it comes and goes quickly. Sorry for your power loss – we have a generator which we are always glad to have when the power is down.

Only one of my neighbors has a generator.
..it certainly would be a blessing to have one for backup! Fortunately, the power isn’t normally out that long! Like you, I can only love the snow for so long, or so short. Ha, ha!
