I practiced a bit of macro shooting while visiting the fam in South Mills, North Carolina.

And then it was time for my daughter and I to travel to Avon in the Outer Banks for the photography retreat. At first, we weren’t sure that the road would be open, since Hurricane Ian did cause some flooding.
However, the flooding was minimal and we had no problems.
We arrived in time to watch the sun set on Pamlico Sound.

Stay healthy.
Stay safe.
Keep smiling.
See the world around you!

We visited OBX during ‘off’ times a few years ago and greatly enjoyed it. I especially liked Pea Island. Seemed more secluded than most other areas. Your photos are inspiring!

I did get to visit Pea Island…a serene spot for sure! Something I learned, which is probably obvious, but wasn’t to me, is how warm the Atlantic is. I am familiar with the Pacific…almost always cold. It was a delight to be barefoot at the beach in October. 🙂

That’s a very moody sunset! Thank you for the geography links. I has no idea such a piece of coastline existed.

Thank you, Allison! I always enjoy it when a blogger that I follow shares the geography from his/her area. I can travel vicariously then, and see places that I will never visit in reality! 🙂
