I decided that there is no time like the present to take my dye supplies out of storage and have a play.
I thought that I didn’t have a lot, and I could use up what I have and be done with it.
I thought wrong.
I have lots of dyeing supplies in storage.
And I am enjoying time out of the sewing studio (and away from housework and weeding) playing around with color.
*Clicking on a photo will give you a closer look!
I also thought that my dyes are so old that they will have lost their intensity.
Wrong again.
I know the close ups don’t do it justice (I had my camera settings wrong), but the next photo does. Lots of deep, rich color!
Here’s two more:
And these are cocoons. Why? I don’t know. I must have had an idea to use these once upon a time.
At any rate…they take the dye well!
Never stop playing!

At some point, I would like to try some dyeing. I’ve done shibori in a class, but I’d like to try some of this. What glorious color!

I figured out that I was gonna have to get around tuit, or I never would. Ha, ha! It is fun; just a bit messy and needs a bit of time. π

Beautiful colors! Have you plans for the lovely stash of dyed fabric? A bowl of dyed cocoons will definitely be a conversation starter.π

At this time, the fabrics are kept in the petting zoo. π Hmmm…I should find an elegant dish to display those cocoons.
