I took an impulsive week to the coast to visit my son and fam (Oh, how I love retirement!), so I wasn’t sure that I was going to meet my May goal.
I got home late yesterday afternoon, and spent today catching up. I am happy to say that all of May’s 365 Challenge blocks are completed! No falling behind!
January completed blocks.
February completed blocks.
March completed blocks.
April completed blocks.
I did take a hand project with me when I went to the coast. Remember this?:

Garden Baskets and Iris Update 5
I finished hand stitching the buds. Now all I need to do is stitch approximately 300 leaves and buds to the quilt top. Ha!
Instead of taking the freeway home, Hubby and I like to take an alternate route. It is much more scenic, so here are a few photos for enjoyment.
I am linking with Elm Street Quilts. Click on the link and check out the other goals linked there!
Quilt On!

Congrats on hitting your goal! Looks like you even made a few extras.

Thanks Donna! I barely squeaked in! Ha, ha! There are bonus blocks to sew every month…just in case. 🙂

There is not a lot of contrast but I am really liking my choices, Kathy! I sure hope that I can keep up through the summer! 🙂

Yay for keeping up! Hubs and I often take the backroads rather than the freeway, so much more to see!

Hi Laura! Oh, those open road shots just look so inviting. I didn’t realize you had retired but I am thrilled that you are enjoying it! That’s exactly how it should be – impromptu road trips, fun with family, and things that make you happy. {{Hugs}} a bunch! ~smile~ Roseanne

Oh, I **thought** those were Canola Fields! Glad you tagged them in the photos to confirm my suspicions.
Too cool, Laura. I’m working on a new piece of music with a new ensemble partner called “The Canola Fields” and have learned about their significance to Canada! How fun to stumble on this crossroads of subject matter.
Love the (canola) yellow and grey blocks – that piece is moving right along.

This is fun…to learn of your new music piece and to post photos of canola! (I did that just for you; we Lauras are so in sync. Ha, ha!) I think seeing the fields of canola in the spring is just as uplifting as seeing fields of sunflowers in the fall! Yellow is so uplifting! 🙂

Yeah, a field of soybeans isn’t quite the same at all!

I love the 365 quilt! Especially the subtle yellows – great choice of fabric. The pictures are great! Love those leaves when appliqueing. Might take awhile to finish the border but the quilt will be beautiful!!!! Hugs
