Christmas Lone Star and a Life Change

I have pulled out another old UFO…from 199?…to add to my New Year’s Resolutions to-do list.

Okay…so it has been on the Focus list for the last year or so. I really mean to get it done in 2022…no more carrying it to the next year!

It is a Christmas Lone Star and I was quite pleased that more work was done on it than I remembered!

Christmas Lone Star

I now have it pin basted and ready for quilting.

Christmas Lone Star

And the life change?

I made a scary and exciting decision to retire from the day job!

2022 really will be a new beginning for me!

Happy New Year!

  1. The quilt is amazing – well worth pulling out of the UFO pile to quilt.
It’s a great time to be bringing some things to an end so you can look forward to new beginnings. I’m sure you are more than ready to leave behind your very demanding day job and give time and renewed energy to whatever lies ahead.

  2. Well I had a sneaky suspicion that you were going to retire. I am so happy for you. We both retired in 1999. Worried if we would be OK financially. Amazing how much money you save when one retires. We are going on our 22nd year of retirement. You will have to adjust but that won’t take long. We were 55 when we retired. Young for retirement but we both worked 38 years straight and that was enough! Welcome to fun and freedom!

Yes…December 30th is my last day. I hope to sleep past 4:30am on the 31st. This may take some adjustment. 🙂

    • Thank you, Wendy! I designed the quilt with the help of Electric Quilt…don’t know if I still have the design on my pc, but it might be worth my time to look…I may have had a good idea on how to finish it. Ha, ha! 🙂
