*Picture heavy post!
Hubby has a special internet friend who lives on the West Coast. Since we were vacationing there, Hubby and his Buddy arranged to meet in person.
Hubby’s friend belongs to a watercolor club, and they love plein air painting. So when it was suggested to meet at Whitney Gardens and Nursery, I was happy to ride along!
If you are a regular reader of this blog, then you know that I love to photograph colorful blooms!

Whitney Gardens specializes in rhododendrons, and I need to come back in the spring when hundreds of varieties are in bloom! If I lived nearby, I would be spending an enormous amount of time here (and maybe my budget, too)!
Stay safe. Stay healthy.
See the world around you!

Oh Laura, you do have a gift in photography! Such beautiful pictures of the flowers. I have never really stopped to smell the Roses – think it was too many years working. Hugs!

One of my retirement goals, Nanette, is to learn how to use my camera better. Hubby received a camera for a gift recently, and we are planning some practice time together in the near future. I don’t think I have a gift…I think I get lucky sometimes. 🙂

Gorgeous pictures, Laura! I do hope you are able to visit sometime when there are hundreds of varieties of rhododendrons in bloom. I can’t even imagine how beautiful that would be – almost overwhelming. I know you’ll share photos with us, if you are able to go! {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

None of the painters finished while we were there. We went to lunch with them and afterwards wandered a bit and hit the road. However, they really did tempt me with their friendship, fresh air, easels, paper, brushes and pots of paint! That’s all I need…another hobby…but what a peaceful one! 🙂

I think plein air watercolor painting must be one of the best pastimes one can do for mental health! 🙂
