One of our favorite places to visit when we are on the west coast is Hurricane Ridge in the Olympic National Park. It offers hiking trails and a great overlook of the mountain range.
We headed up to the ridge early in the morning. Perhaps we should have checked the weather report first.
They don’t call it Hurricane Ridge for nothing!
The view from the car window when we pulled into the parking lot.
And here is what it looked like after I managed to get out of the car in gale force wind.
We were patient. We chose not to take any hiking trails, but we were rewarded with some breaks in the weather.
I am hoping that the following photo gives you a little sense of the wind.

The range and a zoomed in view!
Stay safe. Stay healthy.
See the world around you!

Beautiful scenery! The deer don’t seem to mind the weather. 🙂

Magnificent! I confess to extreme envy on your proximity to such places…and yes, the bending grass touching the ground delivers a pounding sense of the wind!

I am blessed for sure, Laura!
My Hubby made a short video and I wanted to post it, but WordPress wouldn’t let me without upgrading. It sure would have shown the wind to you, and me laughing as I am trying to steady myself and the camera. 🙂

I love hearing and feeling the winds captured in the vid. Thanks to your hubby for his help in getting it up on your post.
BTW: it doesn’t show on firefox, but showed up on chrome…nothing anyone can do about those types of glitches, just mentioning it in case others can’t access it on their browser.

What a beautiful drive and view. I’m happy the weather rewarded you with a break in the rain. I think some of your photos show trees leaning, at the top, due to heavy winds. Wow!

Wow! Hurricane Ridge certainly lived up to it’s name. You both did an amazing job to hold your cameras steady enough to take photos and film!

I watched the video as our roller shutters moaned and rattled in the wind here down under … just to add to the sound effects of your hubby’s video!
