Don’t flatter yourselves that friendship authorizes you to say disagreeable things to your intimates. On the contrary, the nearer you come into relation with a person, the more necessary do tact and courtesy become. -Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr.
Courtesy is a silver lining around the dark clouds of civilization; it is the best part of refinement and in many ways, an art of heroic beauty in the vast gallery of man’s cruelty and baseness. -Bryant H. McGill
The true greatness of a person, in my view, is evident in the way he or she treats those with whom courtesy and kindness are not required. -Joseph B. Wirthlin

Are these all growing in your garden? You have such a bio-diverse retreat! I’ve never seen ‘love in a mist’ before, very like baby’s breath is laceyness.

All of the plants from the garden strolling posts are growing in my garden, Laura. I try to have something blooming all of the time, except in winter, of course. It isn’t as lush as you think, but it could be. Right now, I don’t have the water that I need for the gardens. Hubby and I have a gravity spring as our water source…it has always been enough, but not this year. We are supposed to have a well drilled, but the company has been a no show so far.
And now you know more than you wanted. 🙂

Beautiful flowers as ever. Thank you for the quotes about courtesy. It is a trait in retreat in our Western culture and so all the more wonderful when it is demonstrated in a situation. To be the recipient of someone else’s courtesy – thoughtfulness, kindness – is so uplifting. A good reminder to show courtesy to others.
