I had the opportunity to take a trip to the coast to visit family and support my oldest grandson.
When did he get this big?
I am super proud of this graduate! He had a drive-through ceremony…quite different from the normal tradition!
The family treated my Hubby and I to a day trip to Tolmie State Park, a marine area covering 154 acres on Nisqually Beach on Puget Sound.
This is a great day use park for picnicking, hiking, strolling along the beach, practicing one’s photography skills, crabbing, clamming, swimming, bird watching, etc. I loved it here!
*Clicking on a photo will give you a closer look!
This little crab thinks he’s camouflaged!
This poor sea creature somehow lost its shell.
The creature was alive at the time that I took these photos. Perhaps someone can tell me what it is, and if it can grow another shell?
It wouldn’t be the coast without a large slug!
I have more to share in another post!
Stay healthy! Stay safe!
Get out, if you can, and explore the world around you!

Great idea for a celebration in spite of everything.

Hi Laura! Beautiful photos and big congrats to the graduate. It’s hard to believe that the time has passed so quickly, isn’t it? {{Hugs}} I’m so glad you could visit and enjoy the day. ~smile~ Roseanne

For awhile, I wasn’t so sure that I would be able to visit…so blessed that I could! And not just for a day, but stayed for most of the week! Woohoo! 🙂

Laura, can you possibly be old enough to have a grandson graduating from high school??! 😄 Glad you were able to celebrate with him!

Older than dirt, no doubt, if you asked the youngest grandchild. Ha, ha!

Your guy on the stump photo is my fav…not to worry – I’m a connoisseur of stumps, not other ladies’ guys, and if I could, that one would be hauled onto my wishful some-day-in-the-future garden!
So glad you were treated to such a refreshing day trip – drive through graduation and nature hike.

I was lucky to be in the right place at the right time to catch a photo of that wild guy on the stump. Ha, ha! If I could, I would also bring home that stump for the garden! 🙂
It felt sooooo good to see family and to explore outdoors. Starting tomorrow, it is back to work and the mask.
