Traditionally allotment plots are just full of rows of vegetables but over the past twenty years there’s been a change to mixing in flowers with all that veg.I think it’s because so many of the new generation of allotmentiers are women, anyhow the flowers are the best way to attract bees and other pollinators and look lovely too. I never dig up self-seeded poppies or foxgloves if I can help it!
