As I take a little time out to read blog posts that I enjoy, I see that most are in the midst of choosing their 2020 goals and new word of the year.
I find it all very inspiring!
And very distracting, too.
I have had a difficult time not planning fun, new projects and joining in the group challenges and mysteries.
I want to. I really do.
But I also want to do ‘my thing’…whatever that is. I guess I chose my word of the year already, when, in November, I decided to create a FOCUS list for myself. I know it is only Day 1 of January, but I am amazed at myself for sticking with it so far! I keep the list updated here, and I am happy that it does show progress.
Two projects (the RSC18 Squared Away Sampler and Vintage Ornaments) are completed and I am working on the third.
As you can see from the links below, I haven’t worked on Candace since last August. Here is a reminder of where I left her:
I have been working on free motion zigzagging all of the pieces so that they will be secure.
I thought you might like to see some close-ups.
She will be ready for thread painting detail soon.
May you all be blessed with a happy, healthy, and productive New Year!

You have been so productive these past few months, even with your crazy work schedule, so I am pretty sure your Focus list working wonderfully! Happy 2020!

Thanks, Kathy. My hubby and my house are neglected, but I’m focused. Ha, ha!
Seriously, I am going to have to take time out, and clean house, but it sure doesn’t appeal to me.

Hi Laura! You have been working non-stop since Thanksgiving. I think you have done an amazing job finishing your last projects, and the Candace piece is coming along so nicely. I can hardly wait to see the thread painting start – I’ve never tried that. Happy New Year to you. ~smile~ Roseanne

Thank you! Threadpainting…nothing more than free motion stitching lines…you can already do it, Roseanne! 🙂
My work hours will be less with the holidays over. Yay!

This is turning out great! Glad to see this is the next project you are finishing. It’s fun to watch it progress.
Good job staying focused. It’s hard, but you’ll be so much happier when you have a smaller UFO pile.

I couldn’t keep her waiting anymore, Donna! I am also happy with how she is turning out.
Thanks so much for your encouragement, and for a list idea that seems to work for me! Better than all the notebooks and spreadsheets I’ve seen out there in blog land! 🙂 Keepin’ it simple!

I do enjoy seeing your updates of Candace and I admire your resolve to be focused in your choice of projects.
As you can tell I am having trouble staying focused this month – it’s 18th January and I’m catching up on blog posts from the very beginning of the month! 😀

Allison, I lost my focus when I put the Christmas decorations away and discovered that I didn’t have any seasonal table toppers/table runners to use. Ha, ha! Now I am down my own rabbit hole! Two table runners just about finished, and maybe I will get back on track. 🙂
