Hi Laura! I’d like to take a dip in the “Beauty Pool”. I wonder how their names were chosen. I’m still enjoying the ride along on your vacay. ~smile~ Roseanne

I walked up to that pool and said to my husband, ” That’s a beauty!” He laughed and said to read the sign.
And that is how features are named. Ha, ha!
One more post and this series is done, Roseanne. Now you need to plan a trip and go visit Yellowstone for yourself! ๐

It looks like the only one that you got a shot of as partialy active is the ‘spasmodic’ one…and it does look like it’s name! I’m wondering if the chromatic pool makes sounds when it becomes active?
Visually, I really like the Belgian pool.

I agree, the Belgian pool is colorful and very pretty, Laura. I wish I could have captured the steam and bubblings better, but I was using a pocket camera, and I am by no means a good photographer! Tis true, quite a few were not active at the time I walked by, and wouldn’t ya know it….I get yards away and then see activity. Sheesh! Timing is everything! So is patience. ๐

Your photo of the Belgian Pool looks amazing. I can imagine being sucked down to the centre of the Earth through that clear water and that very deep ‘plughole’!

It looks so inviting to bathe in! It was calm…I wonder if one would get sucked in, or more like it, spit out in a rush of geyser explosion. Ha, ha!
