The Rainbow Scrap colors for May are rose and pink.
I am having fun participating in the Squared Away Sampler project. Here are my three 5″ unfinished Baton Rouge blocks:
On the design wall are all of my blocks for the Squared Away Sampler:
I will be linking up with So Scrappy. Check out the link and see what others have done with pink and rose this month!
If you would like to participate in the RSC18 Squared Away Sampler project, click on the link to read all about it. You can also visit The Academic Quilter for great tutorials on making the blocks. No need to make the 5″ block size that I am making. Perhaps you want to make a 20″ block or something in between!
Learn about a variety of blocks, use those scraps and have fun!
Here is what else I have been working on:
It has been raining, but I have done quite a bit of weeding, and the flower beds are looking pretty happy!

Beautiful garden shots! 🙂 Your blocks look great on the design wall.

Your garden is so pretty! I’ve been working in my yard, too, and though I can see the difference, it’s been much neglected over the past few years, so it’s still looking sad. Yours is great inspiration to get back out there, even if it means the inspiration of all the beautiful quilt blocks is put on hold.

Katie, I neglected mine for a couple of years, too. Since gardening does bring me joy, I made up my mind not to let the demands of my life interfere with gardening. Gardening improves my mental and physical health, as does sewing, so I know that it is a necessity to make the time for it. Take care of yourself; it really is an important thing to do! I am happy if I have inspired you!

Lovely fabric selection in your blocks. I love your garden; it’s really my kind of garden but unfortunately i only have a balcony (with a weight restriction) nowadays.

Thank you, Marly! I am a firm believer in parks, and green spaces, just for this reason. So many are unable to have access to their own area to plant grass, or flowers, or vegetables. The parks and green spaces provide for that need for them.

Thanks, Mari! Sometimes it is hard to choose…play in the garden, or play in the sewing room!

Your pink blocks are so pretty, and they look great with all their other rainbow buddies. What a lovely garden you have, mine is just beginning to come up (and much more sparse than yours).

I’ve been following your garden adventures, including the painting of the fence…your garden is lovely! I like rain if it is the warm spring/summer showers kind. 🙂

Monica, I like most blocks set on point, but at this time, I don’t know if I will actually set them in a quilt this way. So far, I am liking them on point.

Nanette, I am just not a pink fan, but I know the world is a better place for having pink in it. 🙂
