My goal for April was to make eco-friendly shopping bags.
I thought it would be fun to incorporate some orphan blocks into the project.
I used scrap denim and some quilting blocks for the above shopping bags. I wish I would have thought to take the time to quilt the blocks, but I like the bags anyway.
I may have to give this bag to someone with a small child. At least I remembered to add some quilting to the bag. Ha, ha!
The last bag features a hand-painted orphan block. It was a fun little sample to learn some fabric painting techniques, and I am happy to have found a way to use the block!
These bags are durable, can be washed, and used over and over. They are eco-friendly and more fun to use than plastic grocery sacks!
I am linking up with OMG at Elm Street Quilts and Patchwork Times.

What a wonderful new life for these blocks!

Oh I like your bags! Love all of the colors. I have never been successful making the bags, and small things guess I am not that interested but I sure do enjoy looking at others work!

“and small things”… are you kidding? What about all of that precision piecing that you do?!!! 🙂
