Nisqually Wildlife Refuge

*Picture heavy post!

On my last day of vacation, our daughter-in-law took Hubby and I to the Nisqually Wildlife Refuge.

I shared about this wonderful estuary at the Nisqually River delta in this post.

I love visiting here!

Nisqually Wildlife Refuge

I wasn’t ready for this heron. We had just gotten out of the car, and I had heard noise in the water behind the bushes. I was surprised when I saw the heron getting her breakfast!

Unfortunately, my camera wasn’t acclimated yet, and I had mist on the lens! I still have so much about photography to learn!

Oops!

I hope you enjoyed the sharing of what I did on my vacation (never thought I’d be writing about vacation once I left grade school).

This will be my last post on what I did during vacation.  I had such a grand time with my family, and I appreciate them so much!

Our son and daughter-in-law took Hubby and I to another wonderful wildlife refuge.  I would come back again and again if I could!  This one is called the Nisqually Wildlife Refuge.  There is so much to explore, I barely touched the surface.  I wish I had better photos, but you will get the idea.  There were a lot of eagles, but they weren’t interested in a photo shoot.

Here is another link that shares about the refuge.

These last few photos Hubby took with his pocket camera.  There were so many waterfowl creatures, and plenty of bird watchers and better photographers than we out this day!

Arcata Marsh & Wildlife Sanctuary

*Warning: Picture heavy post!

Another great place to visit for those who are looking for serene hikes is the Arcata Marsh & Wildlife Sanctuary.  I loved it here, and could come back again and again!

Arcata Marsh & Wildlife Sanctuary

Click here for a pdf of the above map.  You can see that there is much to explore!

Arcata has successfully created both a wastewater plant and wildlife sanctuary area together.  It is worth the visit!
