October OMG 2017 Goal Update

My goal for October was to work on my Aunt Bea’s Parlor embroidery project.

I wanted to finish the embroidery, and get the blocks squared up and the corner triangles added.

All but the last block are finished in the photo below.  All are sewn together, except the last row.

I am liking this!

I even have the first round of borders sewn…a bonus for me, as I didn’t expect to get this far this month.

Update:

Thanks to Slow Sunday Stitching yesterday, I finished embroidering the 20th (and last) block!

I also sewed the last row to the rest of the blocks, and put the top border on.

I’m pretty happy with the progress of this project!

October OMG 2017 Goal

Patchwork Times drew the number 6 for the October UFO goal.

My number 6 is the Aunt Bea’s Parlor embroidery quilt project.  I have already made quite a bit of progress on this one, since I decided to work on it for my Slow Sunday Stitching project.

One Monthly Goal - Aunt Bea's Parlor

I have completed the embroidery for 17 out of 20 blocks.  Woohoo!

So my goal for October is to finish the embroidery on the last three blocks.  I want to get the blocks squared up and add the corner triangles to them.

I think this may be as far as I get, since the last three months of the year are the busiest work months at my day job.

September OMG 2017 Goal Update

My September UFO goal  was to complete the borders for my friendship row by row quilt.

Friendship Row by Row

Lots of four patches sewn into border rows!

Four patch sashings and borders are bringing the rows together!

And I’ve got a flimsy!

I pieced the backing from fabric found in the stash instead of going shopping.

But I forgot that I had one more strip to include!  So I had to re-piece the backing!  Ha, ha!

I am so happy that I completed the goal of getting this project sewn into a flimsy!

I purchased a Grace frame, so this quilt will be my very first project that I have quilted on a frame.

I know…I should have loaded a practice piece (or 10), but I am just going for it.  And what a learning curve it is!  None of my straight line quilting is straight!  Ha, ha!  I don’t really mind at all.  This row by row is so full of memories for me, and I am adding to the memories.
