July OMG 2017 Goal Update

Patchwork Times  drew the number 12 for the ufo project in July.  My project was to come up with a plan to finish blocks that were given to me when I served as President of my local quilt guild.

Way back in 2001.

I came up with a plan!

I’ve got backing, batting and sashes cut.

And I had  a great time sewing each block into an individual ‘page’.  What a pleasant trip down memory lane as I worked on each one!

I ran out of grommets, so this will have to wait until I can get some more.  Meantime, I do have to finish quilting the blocks.

I’m going to have an awesome (and big) memory book!

July OMG 2017 Goal

The UFO goal for July was announced by Judy, at Patchwork Times.

This month, the #12 was chosen.  My #12 is the blocks that quilt guild members made for me when I served as the guild president.

I served as President of the Colville Piecemakers Quilt Guild 1999-2001.  I have thirty six signed blocks given to me when my term was up.

My goal for this month is to come up with a plan to put these blocks together.  I don’t expect to get beyond the planning stage, since summer is a busy time, but having a plan is good progress.

June OMG 2017 Goal Update and Flight to Alaska

My June goal for the OMG and Patchwork Times challenges, was to work on an old birdhouse wall hanging project.

One Monthly Goal - Bird House

I’ve done absolutely nothing to it.

I do have ideas, and I want to work on it.  I really do.

But June turned out to be a very busy month.

I am painting an upstairs bedroom.

And the bathroom.

Both rooms will be a very soft gray, and much lighter than they were before.  I hate house painting, but the results are worth it!

Progress is slow, since I am fitting the painting in between work shifts and the usual life stuff.

I took a trip to Alaska at the beginning of this month.  What a lot of fun!  I’d like to do it again!

I have literally hundreds of photos to sort through.  I’d like to make a photo memory book for myself.  This is going to take some time!

I thought I’d share a few photos with you.  These are from the flight to Alaska:

I’ll share more when I get them edited.
