Scrappy Pumpkin Table Runners and Pillow Covers

I am enjoying working on seasonal projects and using up stash at the same time!

I found an easy pumpkin tutorial shared by Amy Smart and it has been fun to make!

Pumpkin Table Runners

I am making two table runners to fit two different cabinets in my home.

I am also making two different pillow covers for the couch.

I added enough black squares (great to use them up) to make them the size that I need for the pillow forms that I have.

On to the not so fun part; making batting the sizes that I need from the scraps that I have.

Frankenbatt…appropriate for the season!

Mini Design Boards

Back in 2017, I made mini design boards in sizes 9″ to 15″ square.

Those boards are very handy. I use them a lot.

I wanted a larger size, about 17″ square.

The boards that I found to work with measure about 20″ x 30″. I didn’t want to waste any, so I used the entire board, rather than cutting squares from them.

Instead of using hot glue, which was a very messy experience for me, I went with a different tutorial and used the UltraHold fusible glue from HeatnBond.

It was faster and easier!

If you would like to make your own, try Robin Suzanne’s tutorial:

I did make two, but they look the same, so you get the idea.

Melanie’s Table Topper

Once upon a time, my daughter-in-law thought that she would like to learn to sew.

She wanted to make a fall themed table topper for her home, so she purchased these fabrics:

Table Topper Fabrics

Melanie has many talents, but she decided that sewing wasn’t going to be one of them.  So she gave me the fabrics and moved on to other pursuits.

I decided to make that table topper and she will be getting it for Christmas (even if she reads this post…which is a very high possibility).

Merry Christmas Mel!
