“‘Is the spring coming?’ he said. ‘What is it like?’ …
‘It is the sun shining on the rain and the rain falling on the sunshine, and things pushing up and working under the earth.’”
—Frances Hodgson Burnett, The Secret Garden
Sunday has proven to be a glorious day…no rain…no snow!
So Hubby and I took some time out to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine.
We packed up the bikes and headed over to Old Kettle for a bit of exercise.
This is one of our favorite recreational areas and we are blessed to live nearby.
There are interesting markers that describe the old town, but for today, we simply rode our bikes and enjoyed a bit of nature, rather than exploring the town history (a fun thing to do as there are remnants of the town and it is easy to imagine what life may have been like).
Old Kettle Falls still has residents, such as this squirrel, who was having lunch.
