Walk to Wonderwood Park

No sewing happening, but lots of fun genealogy and visiting with family, so all is good!

Currently, I am blessed to be on the west side of my state visiting with my son and his fam. Double blessed, since Spring is happening here, and it is still snowing on my side of the state.

So I took my new camera out for a walk to Wonderwood Park and recorded the greening of the land!

Those that aren’t experiencing Spring, but are longing for it (It is coming!), please enjoy the blooms, the greens, and the textures through these photos!

Stay healthy.

Stay safe.

Tulip Placemats

While internet surfing, I came across a cute tulip tutorial by Kristina at Center Street Quilts.

Tulip Placemats

If I sewed three tulip blocks to make one placemat, the size would be 15″ x 18″…exactly the size of my accent tables (I have two of them…his and her’s you know)!

I wanted to get this made last month, to replace the Valentine placemats that are still on my tables.

Tulip Placemats

I don’t have to decorate ‘in season’, do I?

Tulip Placemats

One day, I might have enough seasonal table toppers/placemats to decorate in a timely manner.

Tulip Placemats

That’s the goal.

Birdhouse UFO Finished!

Birdhouse Wall Hanging

It feels great to have another UFO completed! The birdhouse was begun in 1995 (you can read about it here and here), and I lost interest.

I set a goal in 2017 to do something with this project, and I lost interest.

In 2020, I actually worked on it (I shared here). Life happened. My sewing machine needed a new part, and the part sat off the coast in a cargo ship for months (Thank you, Covid).

Birdhouse Wall Hanging

My sewing machine is repaired, and I chose this month to push through! I am done with it cluttering up my mind and taking space in the sewing studio!

Birdhouse Wall Hanging

Funny thing…

Birdhouse Wall Hanging

I lost interest because I didn’t like it. Once I came up with a plan…well…

I like it!

Birdhouse Wall Hanging

It needs a name.

Birdhouse Wall Hanging

Hubby suggested ‘Spring Song’.
