Fabric Postcard

I have a special friend whose birthday is in December.

So I made a fabric birthday card to send to her.

Notice I stayed away from a Christmas theme even though she is a December baby.  Her birthday is her own day, not to be celebrated with Christmas.

I covered up her name and address with my pincushion.  Mustn’t spoil the surprise.

There are lots of fabric postcard tutorials online.  Although I’ve made lots of these easy postcards, I googled just to see what comes up.  Here’s a couple to get you started.

Clam Shell Purses

The Clam Shell Accessories Case Clover pattern reminded me of my childhood days when I had a rubber coin purse.  Squeeze the purse to reveal an opening for the coins.

I thought it would be fun to use the scraps left over from sewing aprons for my grandaughters and make a couple of these cases.

I’m embellishing with embroidery, beads and buttons.  The plain one obviously still needs embellishment, but I wanted to show the difference.  You can certainly be very creative with these cases!

I’m making the largest size; there is alot of room in there!  Of course, I’m going on a treasure hunt for trinkets that little girls would like, but these would make very nice sewing kits.

They are quite durable and fun.

Apron Gifts

I have had this apron pattern for quite some time.

And I’ve come to the realization that my grandaughters are not going to stop growing until I get around to making them an apron from this pattern.

So guess what I got around to making?

Guess what my grandaughters are getting for Christmas?

Need a quick , easy, functional and cute gift?  Make an apron!

There are alot of free tutorials if you want to surf the internet and reap from the abundance of other’s generosity (I’ve pinned quite a few to my Pinterest).  Or search the pattern catalogs to find an apron that appeals to you.  Or design your own!  No stress!  Make several, including one for yourself!
