Little Twin Lakes

Sunday was a gorgeous day, so Hubby and I packed up a picnic lunch, and the canoe, and headed for Little Twin Lakes.

The area is primitive and remote.  The access washboard dirt road is narrow and about 6 miles.

But so worth the trip!

Beautiful and serene!

More Vacation – Dungeness Wildlife Recreation Area and Refuge

I am back to the day job, but behind in posting vacation pictures.

How would you like to take a late afternoon stroll here?

It is a long way down!

A beautiful sunset in a magical place!

When the kids were young, we enjoyed camping at Dungeness Wildlife Recreation Area and Refuge.  This evening, we simply enjoyed our stroll, but in the past, we have taken the time to hike, look for crabs and other beach treasures, and walk out to the lighthouse on the spit.

There is much here to fall in love with!

Dry Falls and Grand Coulee Dam

Did you know that Dry Falls in Washington State is ten times the size of Niagara?  Yup…Dry Falls is the largest waterfall in the world.  That is, it was the largest waterfall in the world; now it is extinct, but still impressive to see.

My sisters, hubby and I have a Dad Day once a year, where we take him on a day trip, and this year we took him to Dry Falls and Grand Coulee Dam.

Clicking on the photos will give you a closer look.

Grand Coulee Dam is the largest dam in the United States.  We happened to be the last tour of the season.

A fire this summer burned the surrounding hills.

The spillways were not open this day, but still fun to look down from the top of the dam.

I  encourage you to take day trips and explore the countryside where you live.  If you can, take your Dad too!
